While some students may be using their 10 or 30 minute break in class to have something to eat or relax, many Muslim students use it to run to the only prayer space on campus to perform their prayers – often very far. Some don’t even have enough time to both pray and come back to class on time, so they end up praying in dirty corners near their classrooms. While remote learning may change this temporarily, this issue has been dragging on for years and it is not a struggle limited to students in just one university.
